Pastor Cindy Theobald

Thank you for visiting Solon Church through our website. I was raised in Cleveland Heights, and I am a Cleveland Heights High School graduate. My undergraduate education was at Adrian College in Adrian, Michigan. My seminary education with a Master of Divinity degree was at Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. I returned to Ohio and began serving churches in rural areas, small communities, and suburban areas throughout the East Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church.

I am grateful to be part of the ministry of Solon Church. I love to share the good news of God’s freeing love in Jesus Christ. I celebrate the opportunity to walk alongside people seeking Christ and learning how to share Christ every day. Together we are everyday people finding life and meaning amid challenges. We look to God and try to live the love of Jesus every day.

I am blessed to be married to Kerry. We enjoy sharing in his sons’, daughter’s-in-law, and grandchildren’s lives. Solon is surrounded by parks and I love to explore them with our dog Mariah, a small rottweiler. Simon the cat stays inside. I enjoy reading and Kerry and I enjoy watching British murder mystery television.

Rev. Kerry King,

Retired Associate Pastor

I’m a retired United Methodist pastor and married to Cindy Theobald, the Pastor of Solon Church. As the Retired Associate Pastor, I help out and get to assist with and facilitate some of the small groups (such as Bible Discussion, Grief Share, Sunday School, and Book Club). I also preach once a month. I have found Solon to be an invigorating place to live. I love the diversity of cultures and ethnicities. Worship and fellowship here always feels open and inclusive as we embrace each other no matter where we came from or where we are headed in the footsteps of Jesus. This is a great place to be as I find wonder in the grace and mercy of God.

I grew up in Canton, Ohio, graduated from McKinley High school and Malone University, then went on to study at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky and United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio where I received a Master of Divinity degree. Following Jesus’ call on my life, I’ve pastored five United Methodist congregations around eastern Ohio. Part of Christ’s leading for me has also been 21 years of service as a U.S. Army chaplain where I ministered in Army chapel congregations across the United States from New Jersey to Missouri and California as well as Germany. Deployments have taken me to Egypt, El Salvador, and Panama as well.

I love to travel and experience the world and the people God has brought into being with so much variety and beauty. Road trips in my beloved Saab convertible (with a manual transmission, of course) are always on my agenda. Catch me around sometime If you like to talk about cars.

Jon Short,

Music Director

I love serving my church through music.  As praise band leader and choir director it is my privilege to show my love for God, as well as His love for us, through song.

Elizabeth Fulk, Organist/Pianist

It is an honor to be a part of this church and spread God’s love through the ministry of music.

Andrew Rafalski, IT and AV

I am pleased to offer my technical skills in order to bring the ministry of our church to people in a new and different ways.

Deb Crichlow Audiovisual Volunteer

It’s such a privilege for me to take my place in the AV booth on Sunday mornings and to hopefully help enhance the worship experience for all attendees, both in person and those watching the live stream.  I have been part of this community of faith for over 35 years, and I enjoy serving in whatever capacity I can.

Terri Betts Facebook, Newsletter, Office, and Website Volunteer

I consider it a privilege to serve my church. It is my hope that all can see God in the good deeds, both big and small, that everyone does everyday.
